College Application Timeline
Hello Seniors,
Applying to college can seem overwhelming. Well, what if I told you that it's easy? Last year, the students who followed this timeline were the most successful in getting what they wanted. I highly recommend trying to follow this timeline as closely as possible if you want to tackle college applications like a champ.
AUGUST - SEPTEMBER : PUSH
- Finalize your College List
- Start your College Application! Use Common App, CFNC, or apply directly through the college's website.
- Re-register for the SAT/ACT if needed
- Ask for Letters of Recommendation (please ask them at least 2 weeks in advance)
- Send SAT/ACT Scores Online
- Send your Transcript through CFNC or through the College Center
Additional Hints:
- Stay on track of your grades and extracurriculars
- Schedule a meeting at the College Center for extra guidance
OCTOBER - DECEMBER : Get $ and Good Luck!
- FAFSA
- NC Residency
- College Application Month Workshops
- Free College Application Week
- Early Applications DUE
- Scholarships
Additional Hints:
- Complete NC Residency and FAFSA in the same time frame
- Not EVERY single college participates in Free College Application Week
- The Questbridge and Golden Door Scholarships are closed
- If you submit your application by the Early Application Deadline, you will receive a decision around Christmastime.
