ATTENTION 9TH-11TH GRADERS (and your parents),
Have you heard? Upward Bound is coming to FOREST HILLS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!
What's the purpose of Upward Bound?
Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education.
This program wants students who fit the following criteria:
1) First generation college student
2) Students on free & reduced lunch
3) Freshmen with at least a 1.0 GPA - Juniors with a 2.5 GPA (sophomores may vary)
Upward Bound will provide tutoring and incredible opportunities to help you be successful in high school and beyond. It is an extremely selective program, but once you're in, you're in. You will have opportunities that no other student at Forest Hills will have and will be the role models of your community! Please fill out an application if you are interested in applying. Currently, there are less than 15 spots still available.
Applications are available in Ms. Bimson's room.
